BMW Open - Second Set

Second Set: Rado named Official Timekeeper and Partner of the BMW Open
Following its successful debut last year, the Swiss watch brand Rado is once again the Official Timekeeper of the BMW Open. The men’s tennis tournament, ranked in 2025 for the first time as an ATP 500 event, takes place 12 - 20 April at the renowned Munich Tennis Club, MTTC Iphitos, which has a new Center Court. Rado has been actively involved in tennis for 40 years, and is an experienced partner to this clay court tournament, which offers visitors exceptional tennis at close range.
Rado CEO Adrian Bosshard, himself a dedicated tennis fan, considers the partnership with the BMW Open a perfect fit: “Tennis and Rado share a passion for precision, innovation and a relentless ambition to redefine the limits of what is possible. As the Official Timekeeper last year, we experienced the professionalism and dedication of our partners in Munich as they organized a world-class tournament. We’re excited to be a part of this wonderful event again this year, and can’t wait for the first match serves.” Rado is famous for watches made with robust materials and supports prestigious tournaments and talented young players worldwide.
The perfect watch for fans of sports and tennis
In a fitting expression of its passion for the game, Rado presents an automatic timepiece from the Captain Cook collection, complete with a striking detail recalling the sport: the tip of the second hand features a luminous highlight in the same bright yellow colour as tennis balls. This new interpretation of the Rado Captain Cook from 1962 makes a strong impression with sporty design elements like the blue and white colour-gradient dial, which is framed by a rotating bezel in polished blue high-tech ceramic, and with three interchangeable straps: a blue and white striped NATO fabric strap, a blue leather strap with decorative stitching, and a distinctive stainless steel bracelet – all are perfect complements to a sporty style, and easily exchanged thanks to the Rado EasyClip system.
Action on and off court
Tournament visitors can discover this and other watches at the Rado stand. The Swiss watchmaker also plays an active role on and off the court. Rado’s striking corner clocks deliver precision time-keeping during the matches, while fans can check the speed of their serves at the Rado Smash Corner. In addition, Rado has plans for several exciting activities involving fans: if they don’t yet have a ticket they can try their luck in the lottery on the Rado website. Anyone who already owns a Rado watch can have it engraved free of charge, and tennis fans will also have a chance to win a VIP ticket to next year’s tournament in the Rado lottery at the venue. Once again, Rado’s strong presence demonstrates its passion and commitment to tennis as a dedicated partner of the tournament.
Rado and Tennis
Rado has been actively involved in tennis since 1985, initially as the title sponsor of the Swiss Open Gstaad. During the past four decades the brand has served as the official timekeeper at prestigious tournaments including the Mexican Open, Open Parc Lyon, Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, Erste Bank Open in Vienna, and the Swiss Indoors in Basel. Rado’s commitment, however, goes beyond timekeeping: the brand’s YoungStar Program supports promising young players on their way to the top of the tennis world – some have even become superstars.
Whether on grass, clay, or hard courts, precision is essential. Rado demands the same of its watches – with innovative materials, exceptional design, and technical perfection.
