Rado Celebrates 40 Years of Tennis

Rado celebrates 40 Years of Tennis
A special jubilee honoured with style and stars in Gstaad
Amidst the majestic Swiss Alps, the watch brand Rado celebrated its 40th anniversary as a partner of international tennis in the very location where this success story started in 1985: Gstaad.

A weekend between mountain panoramas and VIP icons
From 18th to 20th of July, prominent guests from the worlds of sport, fashion, film and society gathered in the traditional Swiss Open Gstaad for an immersive and unforgettable Rado experience. Swiss tennis legend Martina Hingis, Czech tennis player, Olympic champion, Grand Slam winner and Rado Brand Ambassador Barbora Krejčíková, Austrian fashion designer Marina Hoermanseder, Mexican actor couple Erik Hayser & Fernanda Castillo, Canadian Olympian pole vault star Alysha Newman, international journalists and numerous influencers from Europe and North America were part of the journey.

The guests had the opportunity to dive into the behind the scenes of the Swiss Open Gstaad and watch tennis matches from the Rado VIP Lounge. A special highlight was the exclusive Vintage Tennis Dinner on Saturday evening, up in the Swiss mountains on the Wasserngrat – 1,920 meters above sea level – a destination only accessible by chairlift. The dinner was hosted by former tennis professional Marco Chiudinelli and reserved a lot of surprises to the guests: the unveil of the new Rado Captain Cook x Tennis Limited Edition, a tennis exhibition between Martina Hingis and Barbora Krejčíková – a charming duel that celebrated four decades of tennis passion. German e-violinist Laura Zimmermann and DJ Lyam Cruz provided goosebump-inducing musical moments, transforming the alpine setting into an atmospheric open-air stage.

As a former professional athlete and self-confessed tennis fan, Rado CEO Adrian Bosshard knows only too well how much discipline and passion are behind every top performance and every watch. “Rado and professional tennis share the same values – each timepiece and every game tells a story of strategy, precision and emotion. This 40-year relationship between Rado and tennis is without a doubt something to celebrate, but we’re not finished. We can’t wait to help write the next chapter of this incredible collaboration. As both tennis and watchmaking continue to evolve, I’m convinced the best is yet to come.”

From Gstaad to the world
The partnership between Rado and tennis began in 1985 with the sponsorship of the Swiss Open championship in Gstaad - and quickly developed into an international success story. Over the past four decades, Rado has remained a dedicated partner to the sport, serving as Official Timekeeper at several major ATP and WTA tournaments including the Abierto Mexicano in Acapulco, Los Cabos Open, BMW Open in Munich, Erste Bank Open Vienna, Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, Swiss Indoors Basel, and EFG Swiss Open Gstaad.

With distinctive "Corner Clocks", support for world-class competitions and partnerships with top players such as Barbora Krejčíková, Ash Barty and Cameron Norrie, as well as the YoungStars program to promote young tennis talent, Rado has shaped the sport of tennis over forty years - with a spirit of innovation, consistency and genuine passion.

With this anniversary celebration, Rado is once again underlining its close connection to the sport of tennis, which is characterised by precision, innovation and timeless style - just like the Rado watches.
