The latest addition to the Captain Cook range brings a captivating new dial design – and a bold new energy – to the collection. Here, the dial is everything: a diamond powder-like golden finish catches the eye, with a tangible shimmer that keeps on giving. Formed in a complex, multi-stage process, its glittering texture lends the piece an inescapable sense of movement, fuelled by every twist and turn of the wrist. A beautiful update to a classic watch design, first conceived in 1962, it introduces a uniquely organic character to the Captain Cook range. A box-shaped sapphire crystal, with an anti-reflective coating on both faces, enhances its animated allure. This is not a softly spoken timepiece but a watch that’s full of attitude – created for all those that approach life with undisguised confidence.

GOLDEN ALLURE

Beyond this hypnotic detail, the piece retains the overall aesthetic and single-minded functionality of its original predecessor. Chunky hands and indices, minute markings, a date window at 3 o’clock and a turning bezel keep things simple – no complications, no distractions in sight. A Rado calibre R763 automatic movement, featuring an antimagnetic Nivachron™ hairspring and an 80-hour power reserve, provides enhanced reliability, while white Super-LumiNova® infills ensure everything stays legible, even when the light fades.

The timepiece’s case diameter of 39mm adds to a new tier of Captain Cook watches launched to complement the collection’s existing case sizes in 37mm and 43mm. This crucial middle ground widens its appeal to those with wrists on the smaller side, but who still want to make an impact

EVOLUTIONARY UPGRADES

One additional evolution upgrades its adaptability. The watch comes with a stainless steel bracelet and a rubber strap, which can be quickly swapped using Rado’s EasyClip quick release system and stored in a black leather pouch.

For formal occasions, its metal bracelet is effortlessly stylish. Combining brushed outer links with polished, rice grain-type middle links, it offers a fluid-like feel, and an aesthetic that not only matches the polished stainless steel of the watch case, but pairs with any outfit.
